CitNOW Digital Spotlight Awards 2021 – Best VHC Video Winner

Nick Giles, Specialist Cars BMW Workshop Tring

One of the most important parts of a good vehicle health check video is putting technical information in language that everyone can understand. Nick Giles’s video is a perfect example of this, which is why we’ve selected it for our Best VHC Video award.

Nick’s video explores a number of different areas, including the brakes, tyre tread depth, sidewall condition, suspension and more. In every case, he delivers clear explanations of what the car owner is being shown, displaying the readings on measurement tools where appropriate, and ensuring the customer gets a full understanding of what’s going on with their vehicle.

Along with good camera work on the underside of the car, Nick isn’t afraid to go into detail and put issues into context: in particular, recommending that the customer should look out for the warning light as their brakes continue to wear.

“This is an excellent VHC video. Nick’s explanations around the tyres and why he was recommending new ones was clear and credible, his friendly tone would have given instant trust with the customer, and the use of video to display a few areas of concern was brilliant. Well done, Nick!”
