CitNOW Awards – What do judges look for in a good video

The CitNOW Awards 2020 are now open for nominations. What will the judges be looking for? Read this blog and nominate a video today.

The CitNOW Awards 2019 was a resounding success, with a record 1676 entries. But, we’re hoping to make the 2020 awards even better.

With submissions now being accepted, we thought we’d run you through how to make sure you choose a video that’s going to stand out.

The nomination process is simple, visit the CitNOW Awards website and fill out the form – making sure to include a link to your video. You can also nominate through the dashboard. We don’t have many rules, your video will need to have been recorded between 19th October 2019 and 16th October 2020. The video you are entering can only be submitted into one category and if your dealership is from outside the UK you can only enter the Best International category.

How can you decide which video to enter?
Here’s a few things the judging panel will be looking for:
  1. High-quality camera skills
Videos using peripheral devices such as tripods, bluetooth mics and remotes, as well as those with nice angles and smooth movements are likely to be a big hit with the judges.
  2. Good communication and voice clarity
Make sure you chose a video that isn’t too long, but clearly and thoroughly explores the car’s features. Slow, clear language is going to please the judges too.
  3. Going above and beyond
If you’ve got a video that demonstrates going the extra mile for a customer then it should be a good candidate for submission.
  4. Creativity
Each year the Most Creative Video category is jam-packed with clever and original videos. Last year we saw competitions, celebrity cardboard cutouts and dog ramp demonstrations – so if you’ve got a video that’s going to stand out, then make sure you submit it.
