IT Systems Administrator

The Role

This role works alongside the latest technology and operating ideologies and is instrumental in supporting all key aspects of the day to day running of the business. They will have to provide system support to all CitNOW Group staff and visit Group offices to provide onsite support. Additional support will also be required to the IT Manager, on various operational tasks, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure IT is delivered in an effective and timely manner and within budget
  • Develop and deliver objectives, bringing satisfactory resolution to identified problems
  • Manage the outsourced IT & Telecoms support contract and be the single point of contact for resolution of operational issues
  • Review the existing outsourced IT & Telecoms support contracts and recommend to the Executive Leadership team any changes that improve both service and cost
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers and providers and work with them to develop a business continuity plan and roll this out within the business
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate asset log for all IT/Phone and print equipment, software and licences working with procurement and HR
  • Carry out regular health checks of CitNOW Groups systems, troubleshooting and identifying areas of weakness and taking appropriate action to safeguard CitNOW’s systems and IT environment
  • Document internal processes in SharePoint
  • Enforce security best practices to prevent cyber-attacks and security breaches
  • Take an active role in all IT related projects
  • Provide cover when the IT Manager is on Annual Leave or otherwise engaged
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical background covering networking and communications, switches and routers, firewalls and IP telephony
  • Experience in Windows Server (AD, DHCP, WSUS, DNS) Azure and Windows desktop operating systems is essential
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new technical knowledge and evaluate this to apply this practically and commercially to the organisation
  • Knowledge of VPN and Application server; Remote access server
  • An in-depth and working knowledge of Azure framework and processes
  • Experience in supporting a wide range of business-critical applications
  • Experience of writing and implementing IT policies and best practices
  • An able communicator with the ability to communicate both internally and externally
  • An analytical individual with troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of over 5 years, working with the above technologies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V, SQL Server is desirable
